Tony Dell's on Sandalfoot

Update: Tony Dell’s closed in 2014. It has been replaced by City Boys Pizza.

It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but everything else looks good. We had never even heard of Tony Dell’s when we noticed their perfect result in our restaurant inspection report for late March. After a couple of readers made nice comments, we decided we had to check it out.
It’s small and pleasant inside. There’s only eight tables.

The owner, Steven D’Angelo, tells us Tony opened the place 41 years ago and it was the first restaurant in West Boca. “Stevie” worked there in the 80s and came back a couple years ago to buy it. He expanded the hours to serve lunch (lucky us) and painted the interior.
The top lunch deal is 2 slices and a soda for $4.99. We were in the mood for sandwiches but we got a slice just to try it out – it was very good. Our friends at WorstPizza also liked it when they visited last year.
My companion had the chicken parm sandwich. It tasted good, and photographed well too:

I had the Italian Hoagie. The meat was great quality, though next time I’ll ask Steve to go easy on the vinegar. I still enjoyed it. It was so much food I only ate half and brought the rest home.

We tend to go places for lunch but Tony Dell’s is known more for its dinners. We hope to go back soon and try that out. Because it’s so small reservations are advised, especially during season.
