A New Year's Celebration at the Morikami

oshogatsu Celebrate the Year of the Sheep, Oshogatsu, at the Morikami’s traditional New Year’s Festival on January 11, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Morikami Gardens and Museum are located at 4000 Morikami Park Road in Delray Beach, a short drive from West Boca. The festival will feature games and entertainment including a tea ceremony; Shishimai, the lion dancer and open air koto musical performances.
There will be hands on craft and kids activities and an opportunity to learn how to make mochi cakes. Festival goers can also learn aboutĀ  Japanese gardens and “All About Oshogatsu.” Japanese and American food will be available for purchase from the Kirin Beer Garden, Cornell Cafe and festival food vendors. Tickets can be purchased online for $12 adults (ages 11+) and $6 for children (ages 4-11). Tickets can also be purchased the day of the event forĀ  $15 adults and $10 children.
For the first time ever, Morikami and Stacole Fine Wines is also offering a VIP Tasting Room Package which includes general admission and access to the Oshogatsu VIP Tasting Room. The package includes samples of rare, high-end Japanese craft beer and sake, Japanese snacks, Q&A with a certified sake specialist and a pair of tickets to one Sushi & Stroll evening. Tickets are $30 per person for Morikami members and $35 per person for non-members. Adults over 21 only.
