The Chamber breakfast will feature Jack Bornstein telling “first hand stories about his experiences being a Jewish soldier, hand to hand combat, and the relationships he had ….” Attendees are asked to “bring individually wrapped mixed nuts or individually wrapped gifts for The Forgotten Soldier Outreach program.”
As usual the event is slated for Boca Greens Country Club at 7:30 am and it’s $20 to attend. It might be $25 at the door. Register in advance via the West Boca Chamber website.
The West Boca Community Council will meet at their usual Boca Lago Country Club at 7:30 pm. The agenda includes discussion of services including MorseLife (senior living), United Way’s 211, and the Red Cap car service. Spanish River Students in Film Showcase

Julie Bergman
Julie Bergman
Two students from Spanish River are involved in the 2014 Showcase of Films event coming up on March 14th at Lynn University. It is the 19th annual awards ceremony.
Julie Bergman’s “Bright Eyes” is a finalist in the Feature/Short category for high school films. Her grandfather, Al Goodman, stars.

Chandler Kravitz helped make that short and wrote a great explanation of everything they went through: Making Bright Eyes.
Kravitz himself is a finalist for a Burt Reynolds scholarship. We think this is the demo reel he submitted.

Here’s Kravitz (on the right, we think) with Reynolds and three other students.

There will be a red carpet pre-event starting at 9:30 am on the 14th, followed by the awards show at 10:30. This will all take place at Lynn in the Johnson Performing Arts Center. Supporting institutions include the Palm Beach County Film and Television Commission and the Palm Beach International Film Festival, which takes place in early April in four venues from the Frank Theatres in Delray Marketplace up to Palm Beach Gardens.
