Chipotle Delivery?

The Chipotle chain of restaurants is testing delivery, as reported by the New York Times, USA Today and others.
So far this is going on only in major cities. Cost will range from $4.99 up to $7.99 depending on distance. They’re working with a company called Postmates, which currently has delivery in only three places in Florida, all in Miami-Dade.

They will apparently make sure they are going to use the best eld devices to track their drivers hours like they do with their food suppliers to make sure they aren’t driving for too long.

We called our local Chipotle in Westwinds of Boca on 441 just south of Glades Road. Their manager was aware of the test. She said it’s not here yet and she did not have any more information.

Glades-mageddon Starts Monday

glades1
We previously reported on two repaving projects on Cain Blvd. and Glades Road. The Cain project appears to be done, though it looks like they need to finish painting the lines.
Glades Road is up next.

The work on Cain caused significant traffic problems. We saw some long backups on Glades Road waiting to turn onto Cain, and readers reported problems getting to Eagles Landing Middle School and Sunrise Park Elementary.
The Glades Road project is bigger so we expect even more traffic problems. Below is a Google Maps rendition of that section of road along with some possible escape routes:

Red lines show where roadwork will take place on Glades. Purple lines show possible escape routes. Map data from Google.

If you’re on the far west end of Glades or Palmetto Park, you’ll generally want to take Palmetto Park while this project is ongoing. Riverside Drive and Ponderosa are good ways to get there from Glades. If you’re going south you can continue on Ponderosa down to Judge Winikoff and get out to 441 from there.
Going north we still think Palmetto Park is the best way out, but there is one other alternative. You can go through South County Regional Park to get to Cain and Yamato. It’s normally slow going through the park so this should only be a last resort.
We expect the Glades Road project will take a few weeks.

Hammock Pointe Art

More than 500 portraits created by 168 third grade students at Hammock Pointe Elementary School are now on display at the Boca Raton Museum of Art, as part of a unique partnership between the school and the museum.
The school’s third graders worked with the museum on ekphrasis, a technique where the writer vividly describes or provides commentary on works of art. As part of their curriculum with the museum, students created portraits and wrote narratives and poetry about their work.

The “Express Yourself” exhibit will be on display at the museum through June 14. Artwork is arranged by class, and grouped by themes – everything from self-portraits to superheroes and “minions” to Minecraft characters.

Hammock Pointe’s third grade teachers praised the project and its use as a tool to strengthen students’ writing skills – as well as their appreciation of art.

“The use of adjectives to describe their portraits will promote better, more descriptive essays as they work to improve their writing,” said David Fetter, one of the Hammock Pointe teachers whose students participated in the project. “My class was very excited to do the portraits and can’t wait to see them on display at the museum.”

The partnership between the school and the museum was made possible with support from the Robert M. Sandelman Foundation.

The Boca Raton Museum of Art is located in Mizner Park at 501 Plaza Real, Boca Raton. Learn more about the museum’s hours and admission information at www.bocamuseum.org

Body Identified

PBSO has identified the dead body found as “Vanessa Carmen Williams Bristol.”

The victim has been identified as Vanessa Carmen Williams Bristol, DOB: 3/22/87 for Margate. We do not believe the homicide occurred where she was found.

West Boca News reported Sunday that the body was found near Delray Marketplace. We still don’t have a lot more information. PBSO indicates that Ms. Bristol is from Margate, though we found a voter registration for her in North Miami Beach, along with other addresses in Coral Springs, West Palm Beach, and Lauderdale Lakes.
We believe this is her in these photos:
vanessa
Our earlier report indicated she was “white or Hispanic.” The voter registration we found indicates Hispanic. However the woman we’ve found appears to be African-American.
If any of our readers have information, please contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-4587-TIPS.
Ms. Williams-Bristol was married to Joseph Radclif Bristol by the Broward County Clerk in 2010. We see five felony cases for Mr. Bristol from 2007 to 2014. The charges included burglary, grand theft, domestic strangulation, and child abuse.
Note: Below we updated that Mr. Bristol called. While it wasn’t a pleasant conversation, based on the fact that he called, we doubt he was involved in her death.
Update: The Sun-Sentinel reports that an arrest has been made – John Eugene Chapman.
Court records show a dissolution of the Bristol marriage in 2013, effectively a divorce:
bristol-divorce
We have asked PBSO if Mr. Bristol is a suspect or has been ruled out as a suspect. We have not heard back yet. However, in light of the update, it appears he has been cleared.
Mr. Bristol has a YouTube channel including this video about Adrian Peterson and beating your children:

Update: We received an angry phone call from someone who purported to be Joseph Bristol (and sounded like the guy in the video). He threatened to sue us and/or have his lawyer call us. We attempted to have a conversation but he just kept threatening to sue us if we didn’t remove the facts about him from the article. We don’t remove facts just because someone doesn’t like them.
The conversation did confirm that the body found was his ex-wife. And our strong hunch is that if he were involved in her death, he wouldn’t have called.
