La Bonne Crepe in Fort Lauderdale

Family excursion today to the IMAX theater at MODS. We saw The Last Reef and To The Arctic, two 40-minute documentaries with beautiful camera work and overly politicized depressing narration.
Afterward we had a delightful dinner at La Bonne Crepe about 10 blocks to the east.

The kidlets started with hot chocolate. They loved it.

I started with a French Onion soup. It was good. The cheese and onions were both excellent. The broth was pretty good but not outstanding.

Three of us had dinner crepes and I had meatloaf. All the portions were huge and everyone liked their dishes.

However, we didn’t eat that much of them for two reasons. First, while good they were not spectacular. But the second reason was more compelling – we were saving room for …

Both crepes had vanilla ice cream. One was drizzled in chocolate sauce, the other had banana slices. The portions were again quite large including heaping masses of ice cream.
Prices were reasonable, especially considering the prime location. I had a $20 set including the soup, an entree, and the fresh fruit. Dinner crepes ranged from about $14 to $22. Dessert crepes were mostly under $10 and sized to be shared.
The Las Olas strip has high end art galleries. We stopped in a few. The Oggi Murano (also in Boca) has stunning pieces of blown glass.
