Concerns Raised About West Boca Medical Center
West Boca resident Andrew Colton wrote about an unpleasant experience at West Boca Medical Center, on his site, Boca News Now.
The focus of his criticism was the Respiratory Therapy department. Colton indicates that while he was otherwise happy with the doctors, nurses and staff, the RT staff were careless, thoughtless, and unprofessional.
It’s difficult without being there to determine how valid his complaints are. Some of his concerns (use of students and relatively new staff to perform therapy) seem unreasonable. Of course hospitals will have students and inexperienced staff provide some care. Anything else would create a Catch-22.
Anyone who has had care in any hospital will find something to complain about. Someone close to us recently had surgery at an area hospital and got an infection. Did the hospital do something wrong, or was that just one of the risks of surgery that can happen anywhere. It’s impossible to say.
However, Colton goes into great detail about all the problems they experienced, and many points seem hard to defend, such as taking phone calls during treatment.
We contacted WBMC to see if they had any public comment. So far they have not provided any answers. Similarly we reached out to Colton and he has not responded either.
