February is a busy month for the generous and hard-working teams participating in the West Boca Relay For Life fundraiser. The event, which will feature music, games, food, and other festivities to celebrate cancer survivors and honor those who have passed, is scheduled for February 23rd at Loggers’ Run Middle School starting at 12 noon.
The gift-wrapping event covered in December helped to raise over $2,000 for the American Cancer Society, so the teams give a huge thank-you to all those who came out and helped the cause.
To get on-board with fundraising during the final few weeks before Relay is an easy task. Many teams set up their own fundraisers, such as the “Band Nerds” team, which is selling discount coupon books for $20. To purchase, please contact team captain Tom Laasko at [email protected].
Another way to donate is to donate to a specific person or team. This can be done in your name, in honor of a loved one, or anonymously here (by clicking the orange “donate” button).
So far the West Boca teams have raised over $10,000. We commend the wonderful efforts of the 29 teams involved in supporting cancer research!
