Boca Raton 2013 Summer Camp Guide Part II
This is a continuation of our Boca Camp Guide.
If you live in West Boca, there are a few options that are close to home.
1) Camp Palmetto
Located at Loggers Run Middle School, this camp offers eight weeks of enriching activities and field trips for children from first grade through eighth grade. Typical trips include Boca Bowl, Laser Fun Zone, Lion Country Safari and Rapids Water Park. Regular camp hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. but pre and post camp supervision is available for an additional fee. The camp is divided into two four week sessions beginning June 11th. 2) Summer Camp at Levis JCC
The Levis JCC has been offering summer camps for more than 20 years. They offer camps for infants, preschoolers and grade schoolers as well as a CIT Program and a program for campers with disabilities. The Upper Camp, for K through 9th grade, offers a variety of acitivities and entertainment. There are also field trips throughout the summer and occasional late nights or overnights. 3) Camp FLA
This summer fun camp program is for ages 5-14 and located at Boca Prep International School. The camp day runs from 9 am to 3:30 p.m. and extended day is available. They also offer a half day camp for swimmers aged 5 to 8. Campers are divided into 3 groups depending on age and swimming ability. The program runs from June 10 to August 16. In addition to swimming, campers enjoy other activities such as soccer, kickball, basketball and frisbee. An advanced competitive camp for ages 9-17 is also offered at FAU. 4) Delbo Cartoon Camp
The Cartoon Camp, started over 13 years ago, is an “Adventure into the Arts and Beyond.” This camp is for kids ages 5 to 14. Campers have the opportunity to choose from a variety of activities including comic book creation, animation station, computers and digital media, painting, sculpting and crafts. The sessions take place at Donna Klein Jewish Academy in Boca Raton. There are four 2 week sessions available from June 10 through August 9. To learn more, visit their website.
