Chamber Breakfast: Marlin Style
This morning’s West Boca Chamber breakfast featured Orestes “Oreo” Hernandez, an executive with the Miami Marlins baseball team. He gave the audience some practical advice about networking and was well received.
Recent breakfasts had dipped as low as 20 so we were pleased to see strong attendance, with roughly 50 people.
New chair Allen Bornstein is building a team and a plan to grow the Chamber. Judging by this morning, it’s working. They have a new Executive Director, Michele Stearns, who also spoke briefly this morning. She’s at the microphone below, with Bornstein standing behind her.
Bornstein talked about monthly breakfast, lunch and evening networkers. He’s working with City National Bank to put together a golf tournament. And he talked about a junior chamber with “shark tank” events.
Capt. Eisenberg of PBSO also reminded the audience about the problem of car burglaries and to make sure you don’t leave anything in your car. Break ins have occurred in the park and even at gas stations while you’re filling your tank. Don’t leave iPhones, iPads or bags in your car.
