Obituary: Sam Piazza
West Boca Raton lost a friend last week. Sam Piazza passed away at the age of 80 years old on Friday, February 7th, after complications from a surgery in September. Born Salvatore J. Piazza, he had a long career in real estate both in upstate New York, here in West Boca, and in the greater Boca Raton area. He was involved in the West Boca Chamber and his wife Chrissy remains a board member and diplomat. She has been a fixture at chamber meetings since we began attending them.
His funeral was held this morning at Saint John the Evangelist Church on Yamato just west of 441. His daughter Cynthia spoke thoughtfully about his life, bringing smiles and tears to all in attendance. Sam is also survived by son Robert, 5 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. His former wife Dolores also attended the funeral.
Donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Several members of the West Boca Chamber were in attendance, including former Chamber chair Madeline Evans Ervin, Seth Marmor, Scott Topolski, Neil Lavikoff, Marshall Isaacson, and more.
