Approximately 1,000 real estate professionals attended the South Florida Realty Expo yesterday. The four-hour event was hosted by the Boca West Country Club. Over 60 vendors set up booths to advertise their products to local real estate professionals. The event provided an opportunity for south Florida real estate professionals to network with the vendors as well as each other. The booths were lined throughout several rooms in the clubhouse, with plenty of room to move around comfortably despite the large number in attendance. An outside bar and lawn area was available for those wishing to take a break from the action inside. The vendors came from a variety of industries to exhibit their products to south Florida’s real estate community. Boca West also provided complimentary hors d’oeuvres and over $10,000 in raffle prizes were distributed to attendees from multiple sponsors.
Many of the vendors came from the financial sector and included lending institutions and insurers. The expo also featured builders, building inspectors, moving and storage companies, pest controllers, and interior designers. Other participants included print media like The Real Deal, a periodical covering south Florida real estate, as well as Travelhost, a travel magazine marketed toward hotel guests that features local real estate. The South Florida Chamber of Commerce was in attendance, and expressed an interest in attracting real estate professionals to its membership. Other vendors of interest included Boca Helping Hands, a non-profit resource center that provides job training and employment for disadvantaged members of the community. The organization was promoting its catering service, which employs and trains individuals wishing to enter the hospitality industry. Another vendor, Stable Solutions FLA, specializes in remodeling homes to accommodate the needs of disabled residents. The Broward County Property Appraiser was also present to provide information on Florida’s homestead exemption.
Overall, the event was well-staffed and well-attended. Participation at the expo illustrates the importance of networking among real estate professionals and ancillary enterprises.
