Arrest Week: DUI, Fraud, and FTA
Two men were arrested for DUI (Driving Under the Influence) this week. Above left is Douglas Kelly (24). He was arrested early Wednesday about a week after his birthday by Boca Raton city police, and the charge is based on an allegedly illegal blood alcohol level. He was released later the same day. His reported address is just north of Judge Winikoff a bit west of 441. He doesn’t have much of a criminal history, but he did have a domestic battery charge back in 2010. Of course that was dropped. He did have a pretty good Halloween costume a few months ago.
Top right is Daniel Lorenzo (55), whose reported address is in Sandalfoot Cove and he appears to be a renter – the property is owned by someone else per county records. Mr. Lorenzo was arrested last night for an allegedly illegal blood alcohol level. He was released early this morning. We see no criminal history for him.
To the left is Debra Wein (48) accused of larceny and fraud. The latter charge appears to be based on a bad check or something similar, and the alleged larceny supposedly involves something over $300 in value. Her reported address is an apartment southeast of the corner of 441 and SW 3rd.
This kind of arrest often comes about as a result of a civil dispute but in some cases it gets charged as a crime. We see no criminal history for Ms. Wein and suspect this will be dropped soon. She was arrested Wednesday morning and released that evening on bond.
Last we have Ms. Bianca Barresi, arrested early this morning for a “failure to appear.” This is an important lesson for all of our readers. Show up to court. Period.
Ms. Barresi is facing very minor marijuana charges from back in October. She wasn’t even arrested at the time. But she’s been arrested twice since for not showing up to court. Show up!
We don’t see any criminal history for her in Palm Beach County but we did find a pending misdemeanor petit theft charge in Broward from back in October. Petit theft charges often result from shoplifting.
