Weekend Events at Sunset Cove Amphitheater

free-beer
This weekend there are two big events at Sunset Cove Amphitheater. The “Free Beer” thing is part of the Ales for Anglers event where the first hour (doors open at 2:30 pm, music starts at 3ish) includes free and unlimited homebrew sampling. However the event itself is not free – tickets are $35 in advance and $40 on the day of the show. You can get 4 tickets for $100 but that deal expires sometime Wednesday around noon or maybe 2:30 pm.
Acts include Thomas Wynn & the Believers, Have Gun Will Travel, Forrest Hoffar, and headliner JJ Grey & Mofro, a Southern rock/soul/funk/blues jam band.

Ales for Anglers motto is:

Bringing together beer, fishing, and music enthusiasts to enjoy Florida’s finest with a focus on education and appreciation of different beers.

Or, put another way:

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, grab a beer that was produced in Florida while listening to some music produced in Florida, that is what Ales For Anglers is all about. BEER MUSIC FISHING,

Beer, music, fishing. Got it? Because of the alcohol, we think, attendees must be 21 or older.
Read more about it at Ales for Anglers. Buy tickets at EventBrite.
Friday Sunset Cove hosts The Avett Brothers.
Per Wikipedia, they “combine bluegrass, country, punk, pop melodies, folk, rock and roll, indie rock, honky tonk, and ragtime.” From reading about them they seem to be a very successful band, but for some reason this author has never heard of them and doesn’t recognize any of their songs.
Doors open at 7 pm. Show starts at 8. $38.50 in advance and $45 on the day of the show. Buy tickets through TicketMaster.
