Modernizing Maternity at West Boca Medical Center
West Boca Medical Center recently announced that they will be renovating and refurbishing the Birth Care Pavilion. Starting in June, the Center will be making improvements to the labor and delivery unit, post-partum unit and newborn nursery including new furniture. Patient rooms will get recliners, a sleep bench for overnight visitors and updated bathrooms.
New bassinettes and baby warmers will be added to the labor and delivery rooms. Selected rooms will offer workspace for dads, sleeping quarters and wireless internet connections. Currently, the hospital offers 2 princess suites for a small fee; private rooms with a private bathroom and flat screen television. The renovations will convert additional rooms into private rooms. To reserve a private room, call 561-470-6426. The project will take 12 months to complete but new rooms will be available over the course of the year. If you join the Family Club, you can get discounts and a private birthdare pavillion tour as well as free screenings.
In addition to up to date facilities, West Boca Medical Center is offering education for mothers to be. Expectant mothers can register for the Journey of Motherhood Preparation Series, a series of 3 classes on the first Tuesday evening of every month. This series is intended for childbirth support partners also. The first session will cover what to expect prior to delivery, the second session will review what to expect right after delivery and the third will cover infant nutrition.
