Now that summer is here, families may be looking for some free and low cost activities. Here are a few ideas:
MUSIC
June MusicFest at the Delray Marketplace, Every Friday from 8-10 p.m. in the Amphitheater. Free admission.
Boca Center’s Free Concert Series at Shops at Boca Center, Free Music on the First Saturday every month from 7-9 p.m.
Friday Night Summer Tribute Series at Mizner Park Amphitheater, presented by the City of Boca Raton. Blankets and chairs are welcome. Chairs available for rent.
Seventh Annual July 4th Celebration at Sunset Cove Amphitheater, Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Kids fun zone, food trucks and musical fireworks display.
On The Roxx, Free Tribute Concert to the 80s at Sunset Cove Amphitheater. August 9th at 7 p.m.
FUN IN THE SUN
Family Fun Days at Delray Marketplace, Wednesdays from 3 to 6 p.m. Face painting, craft station, bubbles and fire truck.
Coconut Cove Waterpark at the South County Regional Park, Lazy river, lily pad walk, water slides and water playground. Open daily from June 6 – August 18, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Toddlers are $3.30, Children (3-11) are $8.30 and Adults are $10.30. There is a discount after 3 p.m.
Fishing Fridays at Daggerwing Nature Center on June 27, July 11, July 25 and August 8. For kids ages 8-15. $10 per class and preregisteration is required by calling 561-629-8760. The Nature Center is open Wednesdays thru Fridays 1 to 4:30 and Saturday from 10-4 p.m.
MOVIES
Sunday Movie Madness at Sugar Sand Park Community Center, Movies start at 11 a.m. Tickets are $1 each and include popcorn and a drink. June 22, July 20 and August 24.
Cinemark Summer Movie Clubhouse, Cinemark Palace 20 in Boca Raton. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 10 a.m. All movies are $1 and are G or PG.
Summer Movie Express at Regal Magnolia Place Stadium in Coral Springs. Tuesday and Wednesdays at 10 a.m. All movies are $1. Located at 9645 Westview Drive.
And Don’t forget the Glades Road Branch and the West Boca Branch of the Palm Beach County Library have weekly activities and story times for children and teens.
