West Boca Schools Get Straight A's
School grades are out for elementary and middle schools around the state. West Boca schools did well.
Among middle schools, all Boca Raton public schools got A grades. Eagles Landing had the highest score among the West Boca schools with a 667. Scores for both middle and elementary schools are based on FCAT scores.
Omni Middle and Loggers’ Run were just behind with 659 and 658 respectively. Boca Middle School in East Boca did worse with a 603, but still maintained an A grade. Don Estridge, a magnet school in East Boca, did better with a 714. Bak Middle, another magnet program in West Palm Beach, did the best with a 788. Somerset Academy Boca Middle School, a small charter in East Boca, also managed an A grade but with a score of 577, which is lower than the top B schools.
Del Prado and Water’s Edge led all West Boca elementary schools with scores of 645 and 643. Sandpiper Shores (630) and Sunrise Park (620) were not far behind. Calusa Elementary (607), Verde Elementary (601), Coral Sunset (575) were in the middle of the pack. Hammock Pointe and Whispering Pines both maintained A grades with matching scores of 548.
Addison Mizner had the highest score in East Boca with 616, followed by JC Mitchell (581) and Boca Raton Charter (527 – still an A). The Somerset Academy’s charter elementary school had a B grade with a score of 498. Boca Raton Elementary trailed with a C grade and a 459.
We should also mention Morikami Park, which is a magnet elementary IB program in Delray Beach that has many West Boca students. They were second best in the county with a score of 711, just behind Binks Forest (720) in Wellington.
