Marquee Theater Company presents "Fiddler on the Roof"

img_9092In the musical, “Fiddler on the Roof”, Tevye is the guide and narrator of his story; living in rural Russia in a small Jewish town. There, he is raising five daughters and although, it is a Jewish custom for a matchmaker to choose husbands for the daughters of the village, his daughters have other ideas in mind. Three of his five daughters each fall in love with a man that doesn’t quite fit the image Tevye had in mind. However, love does win overall. In the midst of the love triangles, Teyve is concerned about the war in his town as the Russian Tsar, the ruler of Russia, is trying to run out all the Jewish people from the country. Throughout the musical, Tevye examines his Jewish beliefs and questions how he can walk the pathway of his faith when the world around him is changing. “Fiddler” is a perfect show for the family to see together. With the songs and melodies we all know, the show touches your heart and reconnects you to what really matters; family, love, and tradition!
