The Boca Greens and Stonebridge Country Clubs both had near perfect restaurant inspections this week. Inspections were mostly good this week.
We did see a lot of violations at one new restaurant a lot of our friends are talking about. But other than that, most restaurants of interest to our readers had 6 violations or fewer – a very good week.
The biggest number this week comes from the new Sammy J’s on Airport Road. Replacing the Tilted Kilt, Sammy J’s had 13 violations including 3 marked high priority.
- Operator unable to provide documentation that aquacultured fish has been raised in a controlled environment and fed formulated feed.
- Potentially hazardous (time/temperature control for safety) food cold held at greater than 41 COOK LINE (SOUTH Cold Table) – shrimp 54F, crab 55F, prosciutto 55F roasted peppers 53F., (Undercounter) Ambient 47F (NORTH Cold Table) cheeses 45F Sauces 43F-45F Ground Meat 45 F. (Undercounter) Ambient 46F
- Stop Sale issued on potentially hazardous (time/temperature control for safety) food due to temperature abuse. – capers sauce – Dijon sauce – Creme brulée sauce
Sammy J’s appears to operating under the same license that Tilted Kilt was using before. It looks like they changed the name of the restaurant without having to do a new licensing inspection.
Other than that it’s mostly good news this week. The restaurants inside Boca Greens Country Club and Stonebridge Country Club were both near-perfect with only one violation each.
We have a lot of Coconut Creek inspections this week. The following group are all in the Promenade shopping plaza:
- Coldstone Creamery was near perfect with just one minor violation
- Mama Asian Noodle Bar had 2 violations
- Cooper’s Hawk, Ciao Cucina and Rubio’s Coastal Grill had 3 violations each
- Ethos Bistro had 4 violations
- Saito’s Japanese Steakhouse had 6 violations
The one West Boca restaurant we see this week is Lucky Express, a Chinese takeout place on Clint Moore near Military Trail. They had 6 violations, with 2 high priority.
In East Boca Sloan’s ice cream in Mizner Park had 4 violations (none high priority) and the nearby New York Grilled Cheese had 4 violations, 2 high priority.
