Candidate Forum Report
–Update– Some videos from the event are posted below—-
The candidate forum got going tonight shortly after 7 pm. There are roughly 100 in the audience.
Candidates here at the start are James Ryan O’Hara and Sean Kasper for two State House races, Melanie Peterson for State Senate, and Cesar Henao for Congress. The seats for Senate candidate Abruzzo and Tom Gustafson are empty at the moment, and there is no presence from David Lutrin. Hopefully they will appear.
We will update as the evening goes on.
–Update– We are informed that all the Democratic candidates canceled their appearances. We will provide a further update on that later.
The event was not terribly exciting – the candidates mostly agreed with each other since the Democrats didn’t show up. Considering the audience it’s not surprising that they didn’t come. But that’s what we get with typical politicians.
Overall Kasper came off as the weakest of the four. Peterson and O’Hara both spoke well.
Henao had a particularly good moment handling a question about national catastrophe insurance when he challenged the idea that there’s any role for the federal government. He reminded the audience about limited government and drew applause for doing so.
Videos: We were able to record several videos from the event. They are all posted on the YouTube wredlich channel.
