Kelly Woods Fleming Named Honorary Chair for Junior League of Boca Raton’s 37th Annual Woman Volunteer of the Year Meryll Bangsil and Khrisna Kellerman Named Event Co-Chairs
BOCA RATON, FL, August 5, 2024– The Junior League of Boca Raton’s (JLBR) 37th Annual Woman Volunteer of the Year (WVOY) Luncheon will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024 at The Boca Raton, 501 East Camino Real, at 10 a.m. Kelly Woods Fleming has been named honorary chair and Meryll Bangsil and Khrisna Kellerman will serve as event co-chairs, as announced by JLBR president Nikki Stelzer.
The Woman Volunteer of the Year Luncheon celebrates outstanding women in the community nominated by nonprofit organizations throughout Palm Beach County and Northern Broward County for their dedication and expertise as volunteers, as well as the work they do to further the missions of the organizations they serve. Proceeds benefit the Junior League of Boca Raton.
The much-anticipated event includes a runway fashion show by The Boca Raton, the iconic resort and private club.
Honorary Chair Kelly Woods Fleming Kelly grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, graduated from Furman University and went on to earn graduate degrees in Christian Studies and French Literature and taught French at the University of Cincinnati. Kelly worked as a management consultant, first for Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and later PriceWaterhouseCoopers, implementing enterprise software for global companies.
After marrying her husband Will 25 years ago and joining him in Boca Raton, she retired from the corporate world to focus on raising their sons, William and David. Kelly dove headlong into community volunteer work, first at Spanish River Church and then at her children’s schools, including two terms as St. Andrews School’s PTA President. She also served four years on the board of the Boca Chamber’s Golden Bell Foundation. Additionally, she served on a committee for the Boca Raton YMCA’s 50th Anniversary Gala, which raised over $2 million.
Co-chair Meryll Bangsil is a Senior Vice President and Certified Financial Planner at UBS Financial Services, Inc. She became a member of the Junior League of Boca Raton in 2016 and has volunteered her time to serve the community while working full-time, training for marathons and raising three daughters. In 2019, she was nominated for the Junior League’s Woman Volunteer of the Year Award by Best Foot Forward.
Co-chair Khrisna Kellerman works as the Parish Executive Assistant and Director of Events at St. Jude Catholic Church. Prior to moving to Florida, Khrisna was the founder and designer of Kaija NY. Khrisna has a long-standing dedication to serving those in need and an extensive record of volunteering through her church, children’s schools, and other local organizations. In 2016, she became a member of the Junior League of Boca Raton.
