What's Happening at the Library This Week
On January 6th, at 3 p.m., the West Boca Public Library is having a program on Minecrafting. Kids ages 7 and up can get creative and be ready to survive this program using their crafting abilities, all players will be online together and have to survive on one of these Minecraft PVE servers, battling against different Minecraft creatures like Creepers and Skeletons, teaching them how to survive in Minecraft correctly and get the diamond tools that are highly sought after in-game. They can share ideas and cheats. If you have a device with a minecraft pocket edition, stay afterwards for a battle dome competition. Preregister by calling 470-1600.
The English Exchange takes place on January 6th at 1 p.m. at the West Boca Public Library and January 8th at 1 p.m. at the Glades Public Library. This is a 2 hour practice and intermediate knowledge is necessary. Call 894-7529 to preregister.
On the 7th, from 4:30 to 6:30 pm, there will be an open house about the roadwork on Glades Road. The event is at the Glades Road library.
On January 8th there are two storytimes at the Glades Public Library. At 10 a.m., Little Wonders features stories, songs, puppets and movements for ages 9-23 months. At 4 p.m., there are stories, games and crafts about the animals that live in the mountain, deserts and oceans. This is for ages 5-8.
There is an adult book discussion on January 8th at 2 p.m. at the Glades branch. Nora Natke will dicuss “Flight Behavior” by Barbara Kingsolver. Flight Behavior is a New York Times bestseller.
