A Memorial to Buddy
Some readers took the Heartless Driver story to heart:
After hearing about this terrible accident, the Georgaras Boys wanted to do something. Stavi (11) attends Loggers Run Middle and Scout Troop 336 and his brother A.J. (6) of Sandpiper Shores Elementary and Pack 306 took it upon themselves to not just express sorrow but also bring about awareness. They too have a four-legged family member that they could not even imagine this happening to. They reside on the other side of this neighborhood and agree that drivers do not keep it to 15mph and that kids need to be extra careful when playing outside.
Stavi designed a friendly landscape design that his younger brother A.J. promised to help him construct on Veterans Day to honor Buddy with the supervision of their mother. They woke up at sunrise, and worked for a few hours to leave behind something that will remain at the spot where Buddy lost his “spirit”. Now his “spirit” will be kept alive thanks to these boys hoping that as all who pass by will remember this terrible accident but remember to “slow down”. They completed it by adding 2 American flags…one for each year of joy that Buddy has brought to his family and topped with a “Scout Salute” because in their minds Buddy gave his life to bring awareness to the dangers of reckless driving with the hopes that may save another life whether they have 4 legs or 2.
Rest in peace sweet puppy.
