Mama's NYC Pizza
Mama’s NYC Pizza restaurant is in Logger’s Run Plaza far west on Palmetto. The plaza is across from Logger’s Run Middle School. As you can see from the first photo below, it is near our post office.
We went for the $6.99 lunch buffet. After drinks the bill was $10 apiece.
It’s a small buffet with salad and a few hot items. The salad area includes cooked chicken and an olive salad which are a nice touches.
As an unexpected bonus, hot slices of cheese pizza were brought to our table. We each got one slice. I’m not sure if they would have brought more if we had asked but I’m guessing they would.
The interior is spacious and bright, almost electric.
The food was very good. I particularly liked the pizza and the colorful mystery stew in the lower left of the picture up above. It had some pieces of meat plus sausage slices and was downright savory. The other hot items were eggplant parm and a pasta dish that might be a Florentine.
As you can guess by the descriptions, we would suggest putting out signs identifying the entrees (and salad dressings). But that was a minor issue that was forgotten as soon as we got a taste. In terms of operations, it might also be a good idea if they implemented a POS system (like this – https://revelsystems.com/pos-systems/pizza-pos/) as this would allow the ordering process to be improved and the customer experience streamlined. In fairness, this is a suggestion we would make for any and all pizzerias and restaurants as they can really have a positive impact on managing your customer relationship and encouraging them to return sometime in the future.
Mama’s NYC Pizza (aka Mama’s NY Pizza & Restaurante) is in the heart of far West Boca, and is in the running to be considered the heart itself.
