Spring Break Staycation

Are you looking for some fun activities to do with your kids while they are on Spring Break? There are lots of places to visit right here in Palm Beach County. Very close to home is the Daggerwing Nature Center in South County Regional Park. The Center is open Wednesday through Friday from 1 to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission and the boardwalk are free. Visit the resident skunk and see them feed baby alligators. After seeing the center, stop by the playground to let the kids run around.
Another free nature center and boardwalk is the Green Cay Nature Center. It is open Wednesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The boardwalk is open daily and there are always lots of birds and fish. Further afield is the Okeeheelee Nature Center in West Palm Beach and the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge in Boynton Beach.
If you are looking for indoor activities, there is the Boca Raton Museum of Art or the South Florida Science Museum in West Palm Beach. The current exhibits at the Art Museum include Impact: 50 years of the Council of Fashion Designers of America and Draw and Shoot: Fashion Illustrations and Photography from the Collection. Museum hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults and free for kids 12 and under.
