Lending a Helping Hand in September
There are many ways you can lend a helping hand this September.
On September 6, 2014 the Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation is having a Funtastic Family Festival. The Festival will be from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Fountains Center located at 7000 W. Camino Real, Boca Raton. The Foundation is a bone marrow registry that finds donors for children and adults. Tickets are $10 each and may be purchased online.
On September 6th, the Hungry Bear Feeding South Florida Event will be held at Boca Center. The Event takes place from 4 to 8 p.m. and will feature a live concert by Krush. Donate canned goods or non-perishables to help fill the 36 foot trailer. Feeding South Florida partners with 325 nonprofit agencies to feet 871,920 individuals.
The Fourth Annual JAFCO In My Shoes Luncheon will take place September 12th at Boca West Country Club. The boutique and luncheon starts at 9:30 a.m. All proceeds go to the JAFCO (Jewish Adoption and Foster Care Options) Children’s Ability Center. Steph Hammerman, the first certified CrossFit trainer with cerebral palsy, is the keynote speaker. Tickets are $75 per person. For more information, call 954-315-8698.
Join Feeding South Florida at their Annual 24hr sort a thon on September 12th thru 13th. There will be 8 shifts available at the Main Warehouse, 2501 SW 32 Terrace in Pembroke Park. To register, visit their website at www.feedingsouthflorida.org.
