8 Bad Inspections
We report on several bad inspections in and around West Boca, including popular Japanese, Burger, Mexican, Asian, French, Breakfast, Italian and more. There are total of over 40 inspections this week.
Also some good news for an expensive steakhouse, a cheap breakfast place, a relatively new Asian restaurant, and a popular West Boca pizza joint.
The biggest number this week goes to Yakitori Sake House in Royal Palm Place with 24 violations including 5 high priority.
Nearby Lemongrass had 17 violations with 6 high priority and Cote France Cafe had 15 violations, 3 high priority.
Rise Sushi, popular in West Boca and now located in Boca Pointe, had 22 violations, 4 high priority.
- Employee failed to wash hands before changing gloves and/or putting on gloves to work with food. Employee handled garbage can then put gloves on without washing hands. Employee washing dishes handled dirty containers then handled clean containers without washing hands. Employee washed hands in 3 compartment sink. All employees were advised to properly wash hands, they all then washed hands properly. **Corrected On-Site**
- Potentially hazardous (time/temperature control for safety) food cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. Pooled eggs (63°F) and garlic and oil (65°F) as per employee both were out for less than 1 hour. Employee removed and stored in cooler. **Corrected On-Site**
- Raw animal food stored over ready-to-eat food in reach-in cooler. Raw salmon stored over cooked eel in RIC. Raw beef stored over cooked chicken in RIC. Employee removed all and stored all properly. **Corrected On-Site** **Repeat Violation**
- Vacuum breaker missing at mop sink faucet or on fitting/splitter added to mop sink faucet. **Repeat Violation**
Bruce’s of Great Neck in Boca Greens had 15 violations, 5 high priority including a stop-sale.
- Dishmachine chlorine sanitizer not at proper minimum strength. Discontinue use of dishmachine for sanitizing and set up manual sanitization until dishmachine is repaired and sanitizing properly. – Tested at 0 PPM. **Corrected On-Site**

The worst inspection may go to La Bamba in Margate, with 8 high priority violations (19 total).
Rounding out the bad news were Wayback Burgers on 441 in Coconut Creek (21, 2) and Cannoli Kitchen on Federal Highway (11, 3).
There’s plenty of good news as well. Abe & Louie’s on Glades and Denny’s on Palmetto both had perfect inspections with zero violations.
The new Yellowtail in Delray (Atlantic near the Turnpike) was near perfect with just one minor violation. Brooklyn Boys Pizza in Shadowood had 2 violations.
