Crime Report: Country Club Week
This week we have a few incidents involving residents of prominent Boca country clubs including Boca West, Broken Sound, crack falling from the bra of a Boca Chase resident, and a bizarre encounter at the drive-up ATM at SW 18th and Powerline between a Boca Pointe man and a Boca Lago woman.
Top that off with a young East Boca woman in trouble for scratching her boyfriend after he found her sending revealing pictures to other men.
Happy Halloween!
Saleem Ali (33) was arrested and charged with a DUI as well as a charge called Leaving Scene of Crash. Although Ali resides in the San Marino townhomes next to Town Center.
FHP was investigating a crash on I-95 northbound just south of Linton in the late afternoon. Witnesses say he was speeding, caused a crash, then attempted to run from the scene with his son north toward the Linton exit ramp. After observing signs of intoxication the trooper arrested Ali for DUI. Ali refused a breath test at the station.
Ali’s past isn’t looking too great. In Palm Beach, he’s had one other felony arrest, two misdemeanors, a couple criminal traffic related charges and a domestic violence case.
23-year-old Vista of Boca Lago resident Nicholas Mccaffery was charged with Petit Theft after stealing a gold chain from JC Penney’s in Wellington.
Upon his arrest, police also noticed he had an arrest warrant for Domestic Battery from a 2018 incident where he punched his father. In the past, he’s had a felony arrest and a couple misdemeanors.
56-year old Timothy Caradonna of Broken Sound was charged with Domestic Battery after a confrontation with his ex-wife at East Boca’s Hijinks bar in the early evening. They hadn’t seen each other for years, and an intoxicated Caradonna approached her, publicly insulting her, and then throwing a drink on her. We see no prior criminal incidents aside from a slew of civil cases and traffic infractions.
He was gone by the time police arrived and was arrested the next day.
Car broker/dealer Barry Zackon (65) of Newport Bay Club was charged with Grand Theft over $20,000 after selling a Cadillac for an incapacitated client and then refusing to tender the funds to the client’s guardian. This was his first felony in Palm Beach, but he’s had a large amount of traffic infractions, a few criminal traffic cases, and an auto negligence related civil case.
The incapacitated client is Dr. Lancelot Lester, a heart surgeon now in a vegetative state after a reaction to pain medication. His daughters are suing JFK Medical Center.
Bonita Adams (46) of East Boca was charged with a DUI, Refusal to Submit Chemical or Physical Test, and Driving while License Cancelled, Suspended or Revoked.
This happened after her boyfriend called the police, just wanting his car back, which is a civil matter. Upon contact with Adams, however, police noticed signs of intoxication.
She refused a breath test at the station and the officer noted three prior breath test refusals.
Sean Kirtz (34) was charged with Domestic Battery after an altercation with his girlfriend in Lantana over his infidelity. She sustained minor injuries. The Boca West resident has previously only had traffic infractions and a few cyberstalking cases, which is interesting when you find out he’s into cryptocurrencies.
East Boca’s Christian Correa (22) was charged with Possession and Intent to Sell Fentanyl and Xanax, Possession of Marijuana Under 20 Grams, and Driving while License Revoked.
After being pulled over for going through a stop sign, police happened to have been doing a K9 drug sweep of the area at the time. Talk about bad luck!
They found marijuana in his car, as well as fentanyl and xanax in small bags.
Previously, he’s been accused of four other felonies, as well as having a domestic violence case and criminal traffic related charges. He did one stint in state prison. Apparently robbery with a gun only gets you three years. Floriduh.
38-year-old Joao Terceiro was charged with Aggravated Battery and False Imprisonment after allegedly hitting his wife and locking her in a bedroom with himself.
The police had been called to serve a no-contact order on him from a prior incident when they learned the details of the latest incident from the wife.
Terceiro and his wife, both Brazilian natives, live in East Boca.
33-year-old Jessica Hartley resides in the Greenbriar section of Boca Chase. She was arrested for possession of crack and heroin following a policeman pulling over her and a friend in Lake Worth for not wearing seatbelts at around 7:00 PM. Hartley was a passenger.
Upon being asked about contraband in the vehicle, Jessica admitted she had drug paraphernalia in her purse. During the ensuing investigation a “crack rock” fell from her bra. Police also found a capsule in her purse that tested positive for heroin. We see many previous incidents for her in court records including 10 misdemeanors and 5 felonies.
Christian Moller (51) of the La Paz subdivision in Boca Pointe was charged with Petit Theft and Simple Battery after attacking a woman who was supposedly taking too long on a drive-thru ATM machine at the PNC Bank (SW 18th and Powerline).
She was making multiple transactions. Moller drove by asking if the machine was broken – it was not. He then got out of his car, and yelled at her to move her car, calling her names (“bitch”, “fucking immigrant”). He cancelled her transactions and grabbed her card. The deputy sheriff reported the victim had bruises on her face, left arm and chest.
This was his second misdemeanor; his first was for possessing an undersized fish.
As we read the story the charge of simple misdemeanor battery seems low, but it might be the right charge under the law.
The victim is a 52-year-old woman and resident of Oxford Estates, off Boca Lago Blvd.
East Boca’s Brittany McCostlin (25) was charged with Simple Domestic Battery after her boyfriend found out she was sending nude pictures of herself to other men.
We’re not sure he should be surprised since she posts some pretty hot pictures publicly on her Facebook page:
He scattered her clothes around during the incident and she then attacked him using her hands and teeth causing him minor injuries visible to the deputy. She’s had no other civil or criminal incidents in Palm Beach.
Yassi Bueno-Sanchez (32) of Boca Glades (next to Boca Municipal Golf Course in West Boca) was charged with Firing a Firearm in Public following an argument. She flew into a rage, throwing things out of the house, and ultimately firing a gun that night.
Police had trouble communicating with Bueno Sanchez as she spoke very limited English and was very upset. This is her first case in Palm Beach. It appears she lives with a man (possibly the one she had an argument with) who works as a girls basketball coach.
