Twice in One Week? Crime Report
One guy appears twice in our first round of crime reports for the end of the month. Another is charged with attempted murder outside a local Publix.
We have 8 incidents in locations such as Sandalfoot Cove, Winikoff, Boca Del Mar, Boca Lago, Watergate Estates and East Boca. Mostly domestic violence, but not all.
Alexander Acevedo (age 23) was arrested twice in the same week. It started when he got angry about his mom telling him to sweep the floor. He shoved her into her bedroom. She managed to lock herself in and got her handgun to protect herself.
He stormed out of the Sandalfoot Cove apartment and she called 911.
Five days later he allegedly used a knife to threaten employees at Miller’s Ale House on Glades. When deputies confronted him he ran out the side door. Deputies and a K9 gave chase, eventually finding him hiding in a trash can, possibly behind the plaza.
Acevedo has had several cases in the Palm Beach County courts including felonies.
Angela Connelly (29) was arrested for hitting her mother in the head at their home off Judge Winikoff. Ms. Connelly was angry about her brother having cats in the house.
We see no priors for her.
Huchnartheu Durandisse (31) was arrested for attempted murder after he stabbed a 76-year-old woman outside the Sandalfoot Publix.
This started with a dispute over rent. He allegedly admitted to deputies that he decided to stab her.
He bought the knife at Publix, planning the stabbing for that night. Serendipity struck and he heard her voice while he was inside Publix. He stabbed her twice in the side and ran when a man on a motorcycle confronted him.
While other news stories describe him as a Boca man, the police affidavit indicates his permanent address is in Pompano near Military Trail and Sample.
We see no priors for him. The affidavit indicates he was born in Haiti. He has a Florida drivers license as well as a social security number. His immigration status is unclear to us.
Daniel Gonzales (41, Whitehall in Boca Del Mar) was arrested in the Watergate Estates trailer park for cocaine.
A deputy saw him “walking away from the area known for high drug activity.” The deputy followed him, then exited his unmarked vehicle and asked Gonzales what he had in his hand.
Gonzales opened his hand to reveal a crack pipe and it went downhill from there.
We see a few minor cases in Gonzales’ past, though the deputy indicated he recognized him, so he may have more to his past than we can see.
Hair stylist David Hannan (37, East Boca resident in the “FAU Ghetto”, works at Salon Cielo in Town Center) was arrested for felony domestic battery.
His girlfriend accused him of pushing her to the floor. Her head hit the floor, causing it to “bleed profusely” and she was treated as a trauma patient by the EMTs.
Hannan had a 2018 domestic felony case and the arresting officer noted a history between Hannan and the victim, charging him with felony battery. The felony appears to be based on the severity of the injury.
Edgar Gilmore (25, East Boca) was arrested for domestic battery after a scuffle with his 17-year-old brother. It all started with an argument over parking cars outside the home.
Both Edgar and his brother minimized the dispute, but the officer arrested Edgar anyway.
Edgar has a few minor prior cases.
30-year-old Jademil Torres-Vadell (Cypresses of Boca Lago) was arrested for battery on a deputy. He was pulled over for speeding (70 in a 50) on 441 in Lake Worth.
Torres-Vadell would not hand over his drivers license and at one point allegedly rolled up the passenger side window on a deputy’s fingers, trapping the deputy to the car.
A physical encounter followed. Not surprisingly, the deputies subdued him and arrested him. Torres-Vadell then claimed he didn’t want to give his information because of the corona virus.
This is how you turn a simple speeding ticket into a felony.
We see only minor priors.
Troy Kranitz (52, Sandalfoot Cove) was arrested at the Garden Shops Publix (Palmetto near Powerline). The victim was standing in line at the customer service counter when Kranitz walked up from behind and kicked him in the leg, took a few swings at him, grabbed the victim’s glasses and threw them at the victim.
Kranitz is or was the owner of the now closed European Auto Service in Shadowood.
The victim indicated he had worked for Kranitz’ father in the past. Kranitz has multiple priors including domestic violence.
