Daycare Porn & More – Crime Report
Four more crime incidents from July including Country Park, Sandalfoot Cove, Boca Fontana, and Boca Del Mar.
David Manas (58, Sandalfoot Cove) was arrested after authorities received a tip from Google that Manas had allegedly uploaded files “depicting sexual abuse of a child.” Google also reported Manas had a connection to daycare.
Detectives determined that Manas’ wife ran an in-home daycare service.
Initially detectives found inappopriate photos of a 1-2 year old girl. Data from the photos indicated they were taken with a Nikon D90 camera. Detectives also found a Nikon D90 camera in the Manas home.
Upon questioning, several children from the daycare operation told investigators that Manas had taken photos of them.
Manas faces dozens of felony counts including intentionally touching the genitals of a victim under age 12, and production of child pornography.
We see no prior charges for him. He remains in the county jail with an astronomical bond.
Dennis Simmonds (58, Boca Fontana) was arrested for Grand Theft Auto. He left Delray Medical Center wearing a hospital gown, stole a car that had been left running in the parking lot, and then tried to hide in his niece’s backyard (Boynton Beach).
The niece called PBSO to report him. They found him sleeping in her backyard.
It’s not clear what proof they have that he stole the vehicle, beyond circumstantial evidence (the stolen car was found near the niece’s home).
Simmonds had a retail theft case in 2003.
Joseph Ross (18, Country Park) was arrested for domestic battery after a fight with his father.
After a week of arguments, the father found Joseph asleep on the couch. While trying to wake him, the son “bull rushed” dad in the chest and rib area, causing redness, bruising and pain.
We see no priors.
Julian Johnson (30, The Lumin apartments, Broken Sound Blvd) was arrested for petit theft and using credit cards that had been stolen from a customer’s locker at Lifetime Fitness on Yamato.
The cards were used at the Hugo Boss store and at a medical device supplier. Witnesses identified Johnson from surveillance videos. Lifetime Fitness employees recognized Johnson as a frequent customer at the gym, who only buys day passes.
We see no priors for Johnson.
