Olympic Heights Spring Fling: May 30th

Olympic Heights High School is having a “Spring Fling” event next Friday from 6-10 pm.

We’re not completely sure we understand how the event works, but here’s a video about it from a guy named Nate Horowitz. We haven’t figured out his connection to OH, but maybe he’s a dad.

The event came to our attention when we were in Somerset Shoppes and saw a flyer in a store window.

School Duel: Spanish River vs. West Boca

Two of our three local high schools will meet in an epic battle of academic wits tonight on Becon-TV at 7 pm. It’s Spanish River vs. West Boca.

School Duel consists of four rounds of questions, covering a variety of subject areas.
1. Warning Shot round, featuring toss up questions that may be answered by either team.
2. Joust, matches individual players head-to-head, with the winner earning his/her team the chance to answer three more bonus questions worth up to 30 additional points.
3. Rapid Fire round, where teams try to answer up to ten questions in a sixty-second time limit.
4. Final Showdown, consists of a series of toss-up questions.

Players get prizes from BrightStar Credit Union and Chick-fil-A.
BECON-TV reaches homes throughout Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties via Comcast Cable (channel 19), DirecTV, DISH Network and AT&T U-Verse (channel 63).
