Good Week for Restaurants

Boca area restaurants had a good week. Out of 24 inspections in this week’s report, the worst number was 7 violations. Nearly all the restaurants had 4 or fewer, which is excellent.

If we have a winner this week it’s Six Tables, a high-end joint just south of Mizner Park. They had a perfect routine inspection with no violations.

Also perfect in licensing inspections were Aerojuice in the Polo Club Shoppes and Papa Trattoria on NW 16th in what we call the FAU Ghetto.

Villagio in Mizner Park did well with just 2 minor violations. Firehouse Subs recovered from their rodent shutdown a few weeks ago and had 3 minor violations.

On West Boca’s Sandalfoot Boulevard, Le Bistro 2.0 had 4 violations, all minor. The Blue, on Camino Real in East Boca, also had 4 violations.

The worst of the week, but really not that bad, was the McDonald’s at Clint Moore and Jog with 7 violations, 3 high priority:

  • Live, small flying insects in kitchen, food preparation area, or food storage area….one fly , flying around kitchen, Dishwashing area. Employee get it out at time of inspection. **Corrected On-Site**
  • Potentially hazardous (time/temperature control for safety) food identified in the written procedure as a food held using time as a public health control has no time marking and the time removed from temperature control cannot be determine . Butter for breakfast. Manager discarded it at time of inspection. **Corrective Action Taken**
  • Raw animal food stored over or with ready-to-eat food in reach-in freezer – not all products commercially packaged….pancake with raw chicken, raw beef and raw pork in reach in freezer at kitchen. Manager moved pancake at time of inspection. *Corrected On-Site*

The Sandalfoot McDonald’s had 6 violations, while Yolk on Military Trail had 7. Our spreadsheet for the week is below:
