Via Palm Beach Fire Rescue we have a report of flooding in southern parts of the county (see above). However, we were just out in areas around 441 from Palmetto Park Road down into Coconut Creek and did not see any significant floods. There was some standing water in front of Logger’s Run Middle School and on Ponderosa by the gas station, but we’ve seen much worse at those locations. We did not see any other problems.
It may be worse as you go east. A reader sent us this shot from near Palmetto and Powerline:

San Germain Avenue is north of Palmetto Park Road and west of Powerline, not too far from Del Prado Elementary School.

Lightning Strike In Mission Bay
Fire Rescue reports a lightning strike on Spinnaker Way. One injured person was taken to the hospital.
Spinnaker is in the Mission Bay community south of a Glades near Diego.
Drug Overdose by Olive Garden?
A reader reported to us yesterday on a possible attempted suicide by drug overdose near Palmetto and Powerline. The Olive Garden on Powerline is visible in the background of the reader’s photo at top.
The reader was told that the individual had taken 90 Xanax pills. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue came to the scene. We do not have any verification from Fire Rescue on this.
Evacuation at Cinemark
Update: Some readers are now telling us the incident was a false alarm, and they had a similar incident a few days ago.
Readers tipped us off to an evacuation at the Cinemark Theaters on Airport Road in the city of Boca Raton. One reader sent us the above image of a Boca Raton fire truck in the parking lot.
We checked on Twitter and found one tweet about the evacuation:
And one reader messaged us that he was in a movie that had 10 minutes left when the alarms started going off.
We will update the story if we learn more about it.
Fire in Whisper Walk
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue reports a structure fire in Whisper Walk. Tyrone Terrace is northeast of the intersection of Yamato and Lyons Road.
Please use extra caution if you’re driving on Whisper Walk Boulevard or Cherborg Drive.
