Jimmy the Greek to Reopen Monday

From a reader:

Jimmy the Greeks is re-opening this Monday and is being managed by his wife and daughter who have a tremendous amount of ability as well as all of Jimmy’s recipes. The same wait staff and kitchen an prep people will all be there. Perhaps a mention of support of this hard working “family” who live in West Boca might be appreciated.

As many readers already know, Tilus Lebrun was arrested for the murder of Jimmy the Greek about a week ago.
West Boca News supports local businesses and we hope our readers will come out and support Jimmy the Greek as they work to get back on their feet.
We previously published a guest review of Jimmy the Greek Taverna and we have eaten there several times ourselves in the past. We’ve always found the staff pleasant and like the food.

New Feature: Local Gas Prices

We just added a new feature to our website. You can see local gas prices on a map: West Boca Gas Prices. Some prices may be a few days old, while others are same day, so it’s not perfect. But it’s a start.

Not too long ago we also added a West Boca Weather feature. Both the new gas prices page and the weather page are accessible from the menu on every page of the site. See image below:

The gas price map service comes from MapQuest’s Gas Prices feature, and we are very impressed with them. Please let us know what you think.

From the West Boca Chamber

West Boca News invited the West Boca Chamber to submit articles. Here is their first one:
The new board of directors for the West Boca Chamber of Commerce gave the community a glimpse of what to expect this year during its first monthly breakfast of 2014. With new motivational speakers as part of the Chamber’s new “Silver Speaker” program along with new fun, engaging networking events that promote business and friendship within our community in a professional setting, the Chamber has increased the energy and overall vitality of the organization this year.
Boca Greens Country Club made for a perfect setting as Senior Sales Executive of the Miami Marlins; Orestes Hernandez led the members attending the February breakfast in networking exercises that have helped him develop over $21 million in revenue for the Marlins franchise. “Members found themselves making connections to a web of businesses they didn’t even know they had access to” said Katie Lizana, Vice-Chairman of the Chamber.
By incorporating ideas and techniques that Orestes shared with the group, the ripple effect has continued to be felt throughout the chamber.
The West Boca Chamber is deeply honored to announce our “Silver Speaker” for the March Chamber Breakfast as Jack Bornstein, WWII Veteran who at one time found himself caught behind enemy lines, injured during the Battle of the Bulge and a witness to the liberation of German concentration camps.
As a Jewish soldier during that time, Jack learned the value of relationships and their importance in all aspects of survival, life and even business.
