West Boca Native Bob Pressner Releases 5th Album

Boca Raton native Bob Pressner is making quite a name for himself in the music industry. Bob has recently released his 5th album, King of Nothing. The music video for the title track has over 18 million YouTube views – but be warned it may be a little racy:

He has a couple of other substantial videos, including The Blue Has Left Your Eyes from this album:

And this live video from a year ago, Looking Back:

All totaled Pressner’s YouTube channel has over 33 million views, with five videos getting over 1M views each.
Playing guitar since age 15, he’s had four previous releases and was even featured on A Musical Tribute to the Olympics, which played at the Beijing Olympics.
We’re not sure he’s a rock star yet, but 30 million YouTube views is something. Plus, Pressner is an active member of our community. He is involved with Stand Among Friends, a nonprofit that helps college students with disabilities. He was featured in the Boca Raton Observer’s summer issue. We’re told he is also a champion golfer and member of the Delaire Country Club.

Relay for Life West Boca Update: Get Your Gifts Wrapped!

As the holidays are among us, the efforts of the teams supporting West Boca’s Relay for Life are no where near taking a holiday. Relay for Life is an event by the American Cancer Society that takes place all around the nation to raise funds and awareness for cancer research. West Boca’s Relay for Life is fast-approaching: the event is planned to take place on February 23rd, 2013 at Loggers’ Run Middle School.
The teams are gathering together to raise funds for the big day by “Wrapping for a Cure.” They have four dates in December and three locations to choose from, and are offering their gift-wrapping services in exchange for a donation to the cause. Come by, donate, and let the teams take care of all of the holiday gift-wrapping.

The West Boca Relay for Life teams are offering their gift-wrapping services in exchange for a donation to support cancer research and awareness.

The first gift-wrapping date is this Saturday, December 15th, at the Shadowood Square Starbucks (located at the intersection of US-441 and Glades Road). The teams will be out front of Starbucks from 10 AM-3 PM, which is next to the Boston Market in the shopping center.
The second gift-wrapping date is Saturday, December 22nd, at Mizner Park.  The teams will be at the Starbucks from 10 AM- 3 PM. The Starbucks is located next to Robb & Stucky.
The Relay teams will also be wrapping at the Walgreens  on 441 & Palmetto Park Road and the Walgreens in Shadowood Square (the shopping center at the intersection of 441 and Glades Road) on December 22nd, 23rd, and 24th from 12 noon until 9 PM. For those last-minute gifts in need of wrapping, these locations are the perfect fit.
Keep checking back to West Boca News for further Relay for Life Updates. If you would like to learn more information or make a donation, please visit Relay for Life West Boca .

FireFest Sunday in Aaronson Park

Palm Beach County firefighters are putting on FireFest this Sunday in Aaronson Park (South County Regional Park). It’s on from noon to 4 pm. We’re told it will be in the parking lot next to the amphitheater.

The biggest highlights include a Trauma Hawk helicopter landing; a Jaws of Life rescue; and a “live fire” showing how quickly a fire can engulf a room.
There will also be food and plenty of activities, especially for kids. If you’re interested in such things, you might want to Like the Palm Beach County Firefighters on Facebook.
