Body Found Hanging Near Logger's Run: Possible Suicide

palmetto3
Multiple readers reported to us about a serious incident near Logger’s Run Middle School. Around 4:30 pm we started hearing about a substantial police presence at the intersection of Palmetto Park Road and Ponderosa. Those reports indicated as many as twelve PBSO cars, a crime scene van, and a fire truck.
Police were seen talking to numerous people on the side of the road, including school kids.

Multiple sources have indicated that a body was found hanging on a nature trail on the northeast corner of the intersection. Initially we heard that it was a “kid” but we are now getting more sources indicating that the individual found was a male, age 21.

We have made multiple efforts to get answers from the Sheriff but we haven’t gotten any response. It’s likely that they’re trying to inform next of kin before making any public statement.
Update: PBSO informs us that this was a suicide.
Most of our sources indicate this appears to be a suicide, and that the hanging was done with a dog leash.

Update: Initially we reported the missing dogs might be related. It now appears they were not.
It may or may not be related, but we were notified by a reader that she found two loose dogs in Country Landings III, which is about a mile north of the location.

End Breedism in West Barking

Pit Bull
Pit Bull

Our community has long been afflicted with a serious problem dividing us. There is a widespread perception that certain breeds, such as Pit Bulls and Rottweilers, are dangerous. This kind of invidious discrimination must stop.
Here at West Barking News, we understand both sides of this argument. I myself was bullied when I was in obedience school. But contrary to what you might think, most of the bullying came from “cute” breeds such as Golden Retrievers and Poodles. It so happens that my best friend then was a Pit Bull, who repeatedly protected me from the in crowd.
Not only was he my best friend, but we went on to get married and have several beautiful half-breed puppies who are doing quite well. When you raise your pups right, they’ll respect others and behave. We are not defined by our breed.
So let’s move past breedism and focus on the issues that we all have in common, like hating cats.

West Barking Arrest Report

cat-mugs
We have a few arrests to report this week, all by the Pug Beach Sheriff’s Office. On the far left and most serious, Mickey “Claws” Kibblinsky (age 8) faces three feliny counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon along with trespassing and other charges. Kibblinsky allegedly snuck into the dog park and picked fights with multiple small breeds. He was arrested Sunday evening and remains in custody pending review by a psychiatric veterinary specialist.
In the most prurient of the incidents, Kitty Yarnchaser (11) was caught up in a prostitution sting. According to court documents Ms. Yarnchaser ran a massage parlor that offered additional inappropriate services to customers. Unlike past incidents we’ve covered, Yarnchaser was aiming for wealthier Johns by locating her “studio” in the Rescue shopping plaza at Cat Moore Road and 441.
Snotty McTabby (2nd from right, 7) was arrested for having a suspended pet license. As usual he has a long history of past offenses that were mostly dropped by Pug County prosecutor Dave Arondog. The Catty Springs native and resident of Barking Grove was released without bond.
Last in our report, Shaggy Whiskers (far right, 4) was arrested Tuesday night on charges of catnip possession with intent to sell. A graduate of Coral Sunset Obedience School and resident of Watercat Estates, aka the Sandal Paw trailers, Whiskers has had several previous catnip cases in both Pug Beach and Breeder counties.
