Crime Report: Drugs, Weapons, Fraud

It was another interesting week crime in Boca with less than 20 incidents for us to report. There was a well publicized story about a Broward resident caught with child pornography, more important locally because he was a coach at an East Boca gymnastics program

Another disturbing incident involves a convicted felon breaking into a West Boca home near Shadowood. Details on that and more below.

Fight at Stoneman Douglas

Andrew Pollack posted a video today of a fight at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

I sent my daughter to this school thinking she’d be safe. She never came home. Watch this brutal fight at the same school a year later. Because of this incompetent school district, I have to live without my daughter for the rest of my life. #

Roaches at Chinese Restaurant

Inspectors temporarily closed a Chinese restaurant in West Boca this week after finding 27 violations including both live and dead roaches in the kitchen.

We also have good news this week as Monet Cafe near Palmetto and Powerline had a perfect inspection with no violations. Puccini’s Pizzeria on Yamato at 441 also did well. Full details below:

Sex Offender Burglarizes Home: Weekly Crime Report

A registered sex offender was arrested after he illegally entered a home and committed another sex offense involving two minors including a 9-year-old. We have the details of that case, other burglaries, drug offenses, DUIs and more in this week’s report.

Quiet Week for Restaurant Inspections

There’s not a whole lot to report in this week of restaurant inspections in and near West Boca. The good news starts with the Shadowood movie theater, which had a perfect inspection. Hot-Dogopolis on Federal Highway was near perfect with just one violation.
