Restaurant Inspection Report

The worst of our latest inspection report goes to two restaurants on Wiles Road in Coral Springs. Country Kitchen had 20 violations, with a whopping 12 of them marked as high priority. There were a variety of issues including hand washing, food storage and food temperatures, and a stop sale on a few items. Click the following to see it: Inspection.

  1. Do you know what is being built in the Waterways shops? I heard it might be a Friendly’s restaurant.

    1. I grew up with Friendly’s and was sad when they closed the one on Atlantic in Delray. That would be great…for nostalgia’s sake!

  2. I would never eat at Country Kitchen. The owner Dinah is rude and treats her employees like dirt AND she does it in front of her customers. The place is filthy! Karma!!!!!

    1. I’ve always wanted to go there. Thanks to your comment and this report, I never will. Thank you very much.

Hi Les, I would like to invite you in to my restaurant and show you my inspection report which was not the one he showed and let you see how everything was based on minor corrective action taken on that same day. I value our customers and I value my staff and we work hard to insure you are happy.I want you to know I love people and work in your best interest. It is difficult to respond back this way but I hope you can understand I will continue to do my best and this article was very misleading and many restaurants are listed and this is information available to the public any time anyway as it has been and we all have routine inspections as I have for 10 years and this is no different from any other time. I do not understand why this person displays photos as he has done with many other stores and puts his spreadsheet up for all these businesses. His newsletter does not have any merit and is not favorable to the community from what I see with but a few local stories. I will be looking further into his background to see who he is and also reaching out to personally give you my attention to insure that we do our job better. Thank you, Dyan

        1. Diane, this is very helpful to local residents. I live here and support local businesses. I DO want to see reports like this. I ate at Dyan’s recently for the first time. The restaurant was Not clean, staff was not pleasant, cookies I purchased had no flavor. I had to send my eggs back to be cooked through. Loose & runny (I req well done. Never got potatoes or toast.) Will NOT be back!

        2. I also like to see these reports! As a local resident, it definitely helps dictate which establishments I will and will not patronize. Yes, these reports do have merit (as West Boca News isn’t the only place restaurant inspection reports are available to the public!). But I can see why one with so many violations would prefer to downplay them. And then you try to discredit the reporter??? Poor style on your part!!

  3. The new owner of Long Island Bagel is an arrogant putzhead. Fortunately, he’s one of the few who has loxs-spread.

    1. Darrin.. I work at a place called My Delicious Deli located at 7036 W Palmetto Park Rd. In the Garden Shops. We have all Fresh food made in site.. We also have Nova spread. Come give us a try

      1. Tina, is this the new NY Kosher-style deli that recently opened? If so, I actually frequented it, then soon walked out after looking at the overpriced menu. Perhaps I will make an exception for the lox-spread. On a related note, The Garden Shops has the worst parking in existence. It’s all zig-zag mishegoss. Who the hell devised this shopping center?

  4. You made a statement that Dyan’s Country Kitchen has 20 violations with 12 being high priority, but you don’t give any details about what those violations are. The spreadsheet that you have as backup for this statement also states nothing other than the same numbers, (no details). As someone who patronizes this establishment quite frequently, it would be appreciated if you could give some hard facts to back up this statement. Thanks!

      1. Hi Tracy, Please know that you can continue to enjoy coming to our restaurant with the same friendly service and quality food and dining experience as you know and we will be working even harder to maintain our standards and improve our daily business operations on a continuing basis as I always do. Thank you, Dyan

        1. Hard to deny the Inspector’s findings. If it needs to be fixed, the owner should stop saying what a great restaurant she runs. Just saying.

  5. As someone who frequents that restaurant, this couldn’t be further from the truth! And… the owners name is DYAN.

    1. Haven’t you ever looked under the tables or the floor. Filthy!!! The place needs a good cleaning. And Dyan is rude. Witnessed it very often.

      1. Hi Robert, Thank you for your post and we are very open and honest to tell you that we clean our floors and much more regularly and will do so more frequently and with more detail. I also do my best to manage people in the on going routine of the day and understand that you may see things that are required in this type of business. We all work together and I try to instill good work ethic and I value my hard working staff and also praise them daily. They are a core of amazing people that have been with me for many years. Please know that my heart is in the right place and my efforts to give you a rewarding dining experience are first and foremost. We will enjoy seeing you again, I hope. Thank you again, Dyan

    2. Thank you Jessica, I am grateful for your support and for someone who speaks from her own first hand experience and facts. We always value our guests like you! Please come in for a special visit and let me know when you are there. I want to personally thank you.
      Dyan

  6. I stopped going to Dyan’s Country Kitchen after I was treated very rudely by Dyan. I was actually shocked. Scary thing is, I went there quite often for breakafast/lunches; not to mention the fact that I had ordered platters for special occasions. Not the way to treat a customer……EVER.

    1. Hi Fran, I want to personally invite you back and talk to you if there was some misunderstanding between us. I am very upset to hear of your experience and would like to be sure to respectfully gain back your confidence with us. I enjoy working with people and I try to be very attentive to my guests. I am sure we know each other and I am not on social media like this often as I always work but please allow me this opportunity to do whatever I can. Thank you, Dyan

  7. If you ever want details, the establishment need to provide you with the report upon request!

    1. Hi Louis, Yes, you are correct and thank you for responding. I am very available to my guests as the owner and work many many hours to do our best for you. Dyan

  8. I stopped going there when I witnessed the waitresses filling the salt and sugar with spilled salt and sugar from the table. When I approached the owner to tell her this, her response was not in my restarant. Well, that’s the last time I ate in her filthy restarant. She deserves to be shut down.

    1. Hi Lisa, I am so sorry to hear this and do not remember you and I speaking to each other about this. I will be correcting this matter if it was by a newly hired hostess who are the ones to fill these units and I know this does not occur by anyone else. We strive to do our best and being that we do our daily work in the eyes of everyone we must work in a manner of cleanliness and proper handling which I oversee daily. Thank you for your concern please know we appreciate your input and your business and want you to feel comfortable knowing we care. I hope you will see better results if you visit us again. Dyan

  9. I have frequented Dyans for years and while it could be better maintained, i think the way this article was written doesn’t paint a fair picture. Can you please provide the details from the talahassee report?

    1. Hi Rockwell, Thank you for your honesty and support and I am compelled to say that you really made a difference to me with your post in my business at this time for the damaging newsletter that misled many people. I am working hard to always make yours and everyone’s dining experience the best and most delicious and quality food and friendly efficient service that we can provide. I don’t take my business for granted nor any one walking through my doors. As we know many people by their first name and look forward everyday to seeing them, this ways very heavy on me to be a very difficult time and I am doing my best to address everyone and everything necessary to keep a higher standard and the standards we have always had and to keep you happy and coming back. Thank youagain, Dyan

    2. Rockwell, there is no conspiracy here. Warren provided the violations link under the article that leads the report. Simply click the “Inspections” link. If you and the rest have poor reading comprehension skills, don’t blame the messenger for it.

  10. I’ve eaten at Dyans a lot and one day I ordered a cup of matzo ball soup. There was a half matzo ball in the soup. I asked the waitress about the half matzo ball. Well it’s Dyans practice to save money and cut a matzo ball in half. I also asked Dyan herself for the other half and she said no I save money this way. Wow how much money did you save over the years with a half matzo ball. Maybe you can buy a better attitude towards your employees and customers and possibly a broom (to ride on). Your not the only diner in town. But the report says your the dirtiest.

    1. Hi Joe, your post was both hurtful and yet it made my smile by the story you told of the matzo ball. We cut them in half for the simple reason that they are too big to fit in the soup cup and there would be no room for broth or vegetables. People love our homemade matzo ball soup and our homemade matzo balls. Maybe we should have offered you a bowl and you can enjoy the whole matzo ball. My staff works very hard and along side that so do I and I hope that you can understand that. We put you first and your satisfaction, I would like to invite you back for a more pleasant experience and expectations for you to enjoy yourself, our good food, and to be happy. I know you would be a satisfied customer and I like your sense of humor and I take your comments earnestly to do a better job. Dyan

  11. I will miss the lemon cake, I always ordered for dessert at Dyans. But if it’s in that many violations, I’m done.

Hi Jean, Knowing you like our lemon cake and you come in to eat is very important to me. I am not sure if you understand this is not a fairly represented news blurb by this publisher Warren Redlich who is an attorney from Boca who writes this information as a side hobby possibly, but I would like to invite you in to my restaurant and show you my inspection report which was not the one he showed and let you see how everything was based on minor corrective action taken on that same day. I value our customers and I value my staff and we work hard to insure you are happy.I want you to know I love people and work in your best interest. 12. Tracy, that’s simply not true. The spreadsheet is separate from the detailed violations report that can clearly be seen by clicking the highlighted “Inspection” link at the beginning article.

  13. To all those who are concerned. I am a loyal patron of Dyans Kitchen for the last 10 years. This place has been nothing but exceptional for me at all times of the day! I can’t see any reason or health inspection to last more than an hour on a business unless there’s a major problem. I think these people are targeting this restaurant because they’re jealous that she is making A living and providing a good service to the community! The person that wrote this review that was bad,has obviously not ever eaten here only to discriminate against a good person who’s trying to make a living. I can honestly tell you I’ve never had a bad meal at this restaurant and it’s always a pleasure with great service. I’ve lived in CORAL SPRINGS 27 years. The people in the back kitchen Adam and Danny in the front and deli is one of the most friendly and accommodating hosts. Thank you for being there.

  14. I see a business owner doing her best to address every complaint right now. While it is easy to vilify over the internet; it is rare to see a mea culpa. For this reason I am going to Dyans tomorrow to order breakfast to go and will forge my own opinion. For Fucks sake i used to drink out of a hose as a kid when playing in front of my house… no telling what lived in that thing… Stop being such pussies and forge your own options instead of trusting the word of some internet hack.

  15. My husband and I go to Dyan’s Country Kitchen all the time. The service is excellent, the food is great and Dyan couldn’t be a more sweeter person. Her daughters are always pleasant to us and it’s always a good experience when we go to eat there. I cannot understand all these negative comments! Her waitresses are hard workers and the busboys do a great job, too. Rose and Jackie are sweethearts and everyone gets the job done.
Enough already with all this….. there’s nothing wrong, you may have to wait a little to be seated, but that’s because the foods so good!

  16. I must agree with Rickie, Grumpy and Robert. I’ve been going to Dyan’s for years and have no complaints. Great food, friendly staff and nice atmosphere. And no, Diane didn’t offer free food for me to post this. I’ll keep going back there because I never had a bad experience there and I surely don’t expect any place to be perfect.

  17. I have been going to Diane’s Kitchen for years. Yes they have their issues from time to time, like most restaurants in the area. Hoping they will resolve them and implement new policies and procedures to avoid these problems moving forward.
I would like to see a report done on Wings Plus which I find to be consistently filthy. I saw rodent turds near the back of the facility on Sample Road recently. All restaurants should be held to high standards across the board fairly.
