Boca Ballet at Olympic Heights: 11/29 – 12/1

boca-balletBoca Ballet Theatre (BBT) will be performing the Nutcracker at Olympic Heights High School from November 29th to December 1st. The performance features over 100 dancers.
smith-zhurbinLead dancers are Sarah Smith as the Sugar Plum Fairy and Roman Zhurbin as the Cavalier. Smith first became involved with the BBT at the age of 11, performed as early as 2003, and won a 2010 merit award from YoungArts. Zhurbin started working with the American Ballet Theatre in 2003 and has performed in three different shows with the BBT. The two performed together for BBT in 2007 as Romeo and Juliet.
Evening performances are scheduled for November 29th at 7 pm and November 30th at 8 pm. There will also be matinee performances at 2 pm on 30th and December 1st, followed by a “Gingerbread Ball” that costs $8 where kids can go on stage and backstage, and meet various characters. Tickets for adults cost between $20 and $35, while child and senior tickets cost between $10 and $25. Olympic Heights Theater is at the high school, on the west side of Lyons Road north of Glades.
