People near the Target on 441 saw a wild scene late this morning as an accident led one car to rollover. Readers tipped us off to the incident and we were able to get there, take some pictures and talk to one witness. One reader also sent us pictures, including the one above.
According to the witness, the car depicted above made a careless U-turn and collided with another car. The elderly driver of the second car, an Oldsmobile, then either panicked or for some other reason hit the gas, driving into the Target entrance and hitting a tree. A polite deputy sheriff was on the scene when we arrived.
The vehicle sustained substantial damage as you can see.
The good news per the witness is that the people involved sustained only minor injuries. They were taken to West Boca Medical Center, which is conveniently located across the street from the scene.
The car that rolled over was a mess.
When we arrived the rollover had been removed from 441 and the crew was in the Target entrance lane trying to get the Oldsmobile cleared. PBSO and the towing company did a good job of keeping that lane open as much as they could.
However, for at least a short period they did have to block it.
