Restaurant Inspections Early November

Mostly good news with over 60 inspections on our spreadsheet this week.

The best inspection this week was for Chuck E Cheese in West Boca Square (the Target plaza) with zero violations. It was a mixed week for the place because they had another inspection with four violations, one high priority.

There were several other perfect inspections for places within country clubs like Addison Reserve, Boca Pointe and Boca Grove.

Outback Steakhouse on SW 18th and Bolay on Beracasa Way were both near-perfect with one minor violation for each.

TooJays near Town Center and Orient Kitchen in the Woodfield plaza also did well with two minor violations each.

The worst number this week was 11 violations, 2 high priority (food storage), for Yakitori Sake House in Royal Palm Place.

La Casa de Peinado near Cumberland Farms in Sandalfoot had 9 violations, 3 of them high priority. All three involved food temperature issues:

  • Potentially hazardous (time/temperature control for safety) food cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. Flip top cooler: raw steak 57°F, raw fish 57°F, raw chicken 57°F per cook was taken out at 2:00 pm from freezer.chorizo 54°F at removed from freezer at 2:00pm Advised manager has unit 6:00pm then food must be discarded. 4qts mushroom sauce (51°F) left overnight in cooler,12lbs shredded cheese (57°F – Cold Holding) left overnight in unit. 3lb cooked meat and potatoes 54°F left overnight. 42each arepas left in unit last night. All food was discarded Two door reach in cooler: 15lbs Chorizo 78°F removed from freezer at 11am. Was discarded Raw steak 67°F, raw chicken 63°F raw pork 69°F. Was removed from freezer at 2:00pm advised manager has until 6:00pm and then must be discarded. Four cases of Cheese 56°F per manager was received at 2:00pm. Advised to freezer cheese or use ice to cool cheese below 41°F. 2 trays of Shell eggs held at room temperature with an ambient air temperature greater than 45 degrees Fahrenheit. See stop sale. **Repeat Violation**
  • Potentially hazardous (time/temperature control for safety) food hot held at less than 135 degrees Fahrenheit or above. Front display case: beef empanadas (108°F – Hot Holding) corn arepas 70°F we put in unit at 2:00pm advised to reheat or use time on food. On counter: 4bs Fried pork (78°F); was made at 11:00am and left on counter. Food was discarded. On stove: cooked peppers and onions (119°F – Hot Holding) reheated to 169°F.
  • Stop Sale issued on potentially hazardous (time/temperature control for safety) food due to temperature abuse. 4bs Fried pork (78°F); was made at 11:00am and left on counter. Food was discarded. 4qts mushroom sauce (51°F) left overnight in cooler,12lbs shredded cheese (57°F – Cold Holding) left overnight in unit. 3lb cooked meat and potatoes 54°F left overnight. 42each arepas left in unit last night. Ramona’s at Hampton and Kimberly also had a mediocre inspection with 9 violations, 2 high priority:

  • Food-contact surfaces not sanitized after cleaning, before use. Do not use equipment/utensils not properly sanitized. – banquet table used as servers station has old soil/debris.
  • Vacuum breaker missing at mop sink faucet or on fitting/splitter added to mop sink faucet.

Hong Kong Palace at Powerline (by Olive Garden) had 8 violations, 1 high priority.

Cannoli Kitchen on Powerline had 7 violations, 2 high priority. And The Sea Southeast Asian Kitchen on Jog north of Clint Moore had 7 violations, 1 high priority.
