Tilus Lebrun, the man accused of killing Jimmy “the Greek” Karaloukas and another worker in the restaurant, has been found mentally incompetent to stand trial.
Our readers should remember the double murder in the Jimmy the Greek restaurant earlier this year. We wrote an update on the accused killer, Tilus Lebrun, in July.
There was a motion to determine competency made back in May. A mental health evaluation was received by the court on September 24th and a determination that Lebrun is not competent to stand trial was made by Judge Joseph Marx on the 30th.

The case is set for a status check in March of 2015.

Arrests for Early October 2014

Last week Chad Eggleston (32) was arrested on charges of burglary, grand theft, and criminal mischief. Court records indicate the alleged burglary took place in early September, about a month before the arrest.
Mr. Eggleston has a lengthy history in the Palm Beach County court system with over twenty cases including several felonies. The earliest one that shows up is a felony burglary arrest from 2002. There were felony drug charges in 2004 and 2006, a felony burglary case and a case for dealing in stolen property in 2008, and a 2010 burglary that was dropped by prosecutors.
More recently in 2012 he had a set of drug charges that were dropped by prosecutors, followed by what looks like multiple incidents similar to this recent arrest – burglary of a conveyance (usually a car), dealing in stolen property and grand theft. That ended with several months of jail time and may have prompted this Facebook post:

Last year he was charged with a domestic battery and resisting an officer. He pled guilty to the latter and got a couple more days in jail for that.
Eggleston was a soccer star for Spanish River High School back in the late 1990s.
Mr. Eggleston’s reported address is just off Sandalfoot Blvd on the east side of 441, not far from the Sandalfoot Square plaza. He remains in custody at this writing with bond set at $6000. The court docket indicates he refused to go to his first court appearance, and his next court date is in early November.

Vending Machines Serving Trouble At West Boca High

This article was written by a student from West Boca High School
Something Fishy Is Going On
Where education is concerned, the number one priority should be safety. However, when West Boca Raton Community High School (WBRHS) adopted the use of vending machines in the school year of 2014-2015, this safety was threatened.

According to The Guardian, vending machines are more dangerous than sharks, killing more people. These ‘murders’ on behalf of vending machines are most likely caused by the tilting of broken vending machines in order to get food.

While it is difficult to imagine, you must consider the fact that in schools there are thousands of hormone-raged, ‘starving’ teens not willing to take ‘no’ as an answer from a vending machine. It is quite common to hear the pounding of vending machines from across the courtyard at WBRHS, almost like a person knocking on death’s door.
Along with the physical threat that vending machines pose within schools, they also contain a vast amount of hypocrisy. The purpose of vending machines is to provide quick, efficient, and preferably healthy snacks to those without food. However, when a bottle of water costs $1.50 and a can of soda costs $1.25, it encourages the consumption of unhealthy drinks. This concept also applies to the foods in the vending machines, making ‘unhealthy’ the easiest choice.
Ultimately, vending machines were installed in schools as a method of making money. However, when the pursuit of money is valued over the safety and health of students, it is time to call into question whether we should just swap to a safer alternative…replacing sharks with vending machines.
