Tips for Teens and their Final Exams

West Boca Raton teens are preparing for what is to be the last week of the 2012-2013 school year. This week many high schools such as West Boca High and Spanish River High are having their final exams. Students have all put it many hours of hard work in class, at home, perhaps even with Virtual Tutors, and it’s all been leading up to now. This is a strenuous time for many students as this is their final opportunity to boost their grades for the school year. Waiting for the results is the next step, so hopefully with the use of leading school software, students shouldn’t have to wait too long to see how they’ve done.
However, with just a few tips, you can count on seeing great results since there are lots of Things You Can Do To Help Your Kids Prepare For Exams….

  • Get good sleep the night before your exam(s). If you are finding it hard to sleep, you could research into something like leesa vs purple mattress, to find the best product for you and your requirements.
  • Don’t study the night before the exam and try to cram in information as this will make you nervous. Instead, study the nights leading up to the night before the exam.
  • Eat a good, nutritional breakfast before your exam.
  • Get to class early so you can study a little before the test begins and refresh your memory.
  • Relax and stay positive.
  • Check your work as many times as possible before handing it in and leaving the test hall.
  • Be happy! 🙂

GOOD LUCK ON YOUR FINAL EXAMS!!

Spanish River's Class of 2013 Officially Ends the School Year

On Friday, May 10th, Spanish River High School’s seniors said their final goodbyes. The class of 2013 was amazing.
From an academic standpoint, this year’s class has been historic. Last year’s valedictorian wouldn’t have even finished in the top 15 of this year’s class. This year’s valedictorian finished with a 4.0 GPA and 5.5 HPA. More student’s then ever before have been admitted to Ivy League schools such as Princeton and MIT. On top of that, most of the graduating seniors who will be staying in Florida, will be going to UF and FSU.
It is inspiring to see the academic progress the school is making. It gives a lot of underclassmen and incoming 9th graders the message that if you take school seriously from day one, you will be rewarded!

Spanish River High School Experiences Record Flooding

On May 2, 2013 a huge thunderstorm hit parts of Boca Raton and Delray Beach. Spanish River High and surrounding areas experienced 7-9 inches of rainfall that day.
As a student at Spanish River, it was really unbelievable to see the destruction a storm could do in just one day to our school. I stepped outside after school that day to see a student parking lot that almost resembled a lake. I was one of the several hundred students who had to trudge through the knee deep waters to get to my car.
Due to the fact that there was water past cars’ exhaust pipes in some areas of the student and teacher parking lot, about 40 cars were stuck and had to be towed. Along with that, a couple accidents occurred due to the poor conditions in the lot and a few students were splashed by the wake the cars created. On the other hand, a couple of students decided to take advantage of the opportunity so they brought out their boards and skim boarded around the parking lot.
For some, this storm was a really unfortunate event; for others, the storm and flooding was a fun and unique experience.
Overnight, the lot had drained, and school resumed as usual.
