10525 Wheelhouse Cir in the gated Regatta section of Mission Bay (south of Glades Road) sold for $420,000. It has 4 bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms in 3300 square feet on two floors.

Mystery in Mission Bay

A reader update on this story:

I heard from one of the neighbors that it started off as a drug bust. There were over eight sheriffs cars and blocked the street off from both ends. Then the guy got out of the house and the sheriffs chased him down outside the street. The whole thing went on for hour from 2 pm and they were still there at 9 pm. I saw them at 7.30pm.

Readers contacted us yesterday about an incident in the Mission Bay neighborhood. There were several PBSO vehicles and it appeared that at least two people were arrested. We have no tips regarding the woman pictured above, but readers tell us the man in the pictures is James “Jimmy” Leclerc.

We have been unable to confirm that Mr. Leclerc is involved, nor what the incident was about. Readers told us that it was a drug bust and/or that there was some kind of gun involved. We contacted the Sheriff and have gotten no answers. No arrests matching this incident have shown up in the blotter. Nor do we see any new cases in Broward or in federal court.

Mr. Leclerc does have a substantial history in the courts, including a fairly recent three year state prison sentence related to several charges including felony battery incidents in 2011 and 2013. He was released in January of this year. The address listed for him in that record doesn’t exist but it’s on La Salina Circle where this incident occurred.

Mr. Leclerc does have a recent case in Broward, arrested last week for a felony driving with a suspended license – habitual. Despite having just been released from prison only a few months earlier he was released after that arrest on only $750 bond. Keep in mind that he may still be on probation in Broward.
At around the same time there was an accident reported to us nearby on Glades at Diego. The pictures we got were blurry.

When we asked PBSO about that they described it as a hit-and-run that was under investigation. It’s unclear if this is related to the incident on La Salinas Circle.

Some records indicate it was built in 2013, but we think it wasn’t really finished until this sale. The house has tile and wood flooring, impact glass windows and a resort style pool, fire pit and grill. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, quartz counter tops and beautiful wood cabinets. There is a 3 car garage.
Another home at 12105 Boca Reserve Lane sold for $655,000. The home has 4 bedrooms and 4 1/2 baths. Built in 2014, it is brand new and has a gourmet kitchen with quartz counter tops, a double oven, stainless steel appliances and wood floors.

The master bedroom and kitchen were recently remodeled. There is a screened patio and an in ground pool. The house was built in 1997. The previous owner took a hit, having paid $724K back in 2005.

This two story home at 21516 Halstead Drive sold for $550,000. The home has 6 bedroom and 3 full bathrooms in 3000 sq. feet of living space, also on one floor. The house features an oversized pool and spa overlooking a lake and a recently renovated kitchen with new appliances and granite counter tops. The bathrooms were recently renovated also. It was originally built in 1996. From the appraiser records this looks like it was a bank owned home but at least one record we see says otherwise. Previous transactions include what looks like a foreclosure sale in 2014 for $442K. In 2005 there’s a $480K but that seems to have been within the same family.

This stunning ranch at 21780 Marigot Drive sold for $634,350. The home is located in the higher end “Crystal Pointe” subdivision of Boca Falls and features a large pool, patio and outdoor kitchen overlooking the lake. The home has 6 bedrooms and 4 and a half bathrooms in 3500 sq. feet of living space. The master bedroom is on the ground floor and has engineered hardwood floors. The seller was the original owner who paid $325K in 1996.

A few doors down the two story home at 21803 Marigot Drive sold for $685,000. This modern home has 4 bedrooms plus a den and 3.1 bathrooms in 3506 sq. feet of living space. The backyard oasis has a salt water pool that is gas-heated and a full outdoor gas kitchen and bar as well as an oversized screen enclosure. The new kitchen has granite counter tops. Originally built in 1997, the house had two transactions in 2010 with the later one at $440K.
21288-Rock-Ridge
21288 Rock Ridge Drive sold for $530,000. Built in 1998, it has 5 bedrooms and 4.1 bathrooms in 3879 sq. feet of living space. Located in The Estates subdivision, it has a large screened patio with a pool. The master bedroom is on the ground floor. It was purchased by an investment firm and then quickly sold to what looks like an individual investor in Deerfield Beach. Like Crystal Pointe, “The Estates” is on the higher end of the homes in Boca Falls. These two neighborhoods typically have paver driveways instead of stamped concrete, and other luxury features.

21404 Shannon Ridge Way in the Mystic Bay subdivision sold for $550,000. That’s a pretty good price for a four bedroom, three bath house in less than 2800 square feet. It is on one floor, has a wide lake view, and a fairly large rectangular pool. There is a 5th bedroom in the house but it’s configured as an office.

Crystal Cove Estates is one of many subdivisions within the larger Logger’s Run neighborhood. It’s just north of Palmetto Park Road behind Logger’s Run Plaza, between Judge Winikoff and Ponderosa.
11581 Kensington Court in Crystal Cove sold for $500K even. The house has 4 beds and 3 1/2 baths in just under 3300 square feet, with another 680 sq. ft. of garage space along with a couple of patios, and it has a screened in pool in the backyard. It was purchased new in 2000 for $408K.

21118 Sweetwater Lane North is in the Winding Lake Estates subdivision. The 5 bedroom, 4 bath house sold for $600K. It has an unusually large lot – almost an acre, and sits on a cul de sac. In addition to the 3300 square feet of living space the house has two 2-car garages totaling over 1200 square feet.

Other sales of note:
9719 Palma Vista Way, on the east side of 441 just north of West Boca Medical Center and just south of the Home Depot and Publix plaza, sold for $675K. The house has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms in 3700 square feet on two floors.
21805 Old Bridge Trail, in Boca Woods, sold for $625K. It has 4 bedrooms and 4 baths in nearly 3500 square feet, and a golf course view.

Bomb Squad Called to Mission Bay Plaza: Video and Photos

Around 10 am today we were tipped off to a situation at Mission Bay Plaza. Readers and friends told us that there was a heavy police presence along with fire trucks. We headed over and took both pictures and video.
The main part of the story is a “suspicious package” that was found in the parking area between TD Bank and Bank of America. You can see a wide version of the scene in our photo at top. It took some time but eventually the Sheriff’s “EOD” team (Explosive Ordnance Disposal or bomb squad) determined that the package was safe to handle. In the sequence of photos below you can see an armored bomb squad member approach it, pick it up, and then start bringing it to their truck along with another team member who is even more heavily armored. PBSO tells us this was not the package in question, but watching it on scene we don’t see what else it could have been.
Another reader agrees with PBSO though:

There was something else made up of an umbrella, some sort of plastic container with a water bottle and some coins.

There was a lot of police and fire rescue activity around the plaza. A large section of the parking lot and the area around the two banks were evacuated and blocked off by police tape.

We asked PBSO for comment:

We received a call from Bank of America, located on Glades Road and 441, of a suspicious package. Deputies arrived evacuated both Bank of America and TD Bank then contained the area until Bomb and Arson arrived. Bomb and Arson arrived checked out the package and determined that there was no threat. Both banks were opened to continue business as usual.

Recent Home Sales in Saturnia, Mission Bay, and Island Lakes

Homes in the 33498 zip code are located north of Glades Road, and west of 441. The schools in this area have an excellent reputation and the area has one of the lowest crime rates in Palm Beach County. In addition, there are many unique attractions both nearby and within, such as South County Regional Park.

Saturnia

This beautiful home at 19542 Estuary Drive in Saturnia sold for $550,000. The two story home has 3379 sq. fee of living space, 5 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. It was built in 1999 and sold in 2002 for $480,000. Located on the lake, it has an inground heated pool and spa. The home has hard wood floors and a gourmet kitchen with wood cabinets and a center island. There is a guest bedroom on the first floor. The master bedroom suite is upstairs and there is a loft as well.

Also located in Saturnia, 19294 Skyridge Circle sold for $500,000. This lake front Chardonnay model has 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms in 2819 sq. feet. The home was built in 1999 and has marble and wood flooring. It is a one story home. It was previously purchased in 2011 for $425,000.

In the same neighborhood, 19221 Skyridge Circle sold for $530,000.  This two story home has 4 bedrooms and 3.1 bathrooms in 3495 sq. feet. There is an upgraded kitchen with granite counter tops and wood cabinets. The master bedroom suite is located on the first floor. Upstairs is a large loft and 3 bedrooms. While the first two have full lake views, this one has a limited corner lake view and is close to the community entrance.
The Saturnia neighborhood is wonderful for families and offers a 24 hour guarded gate, clubhouse, pool and spa. It also has basketball and tennis courts, and a fitness center. Students attend the highly regarded Eagles Landing Middle School and Olympic Heights High School, though some go to other area schools. There are HOA fees.

It has a lake view and an in ground screened in pool and patio. The house is located in a small cul-de-sac in a gated section, The Isle at Mission Bay. It was purchased in 2005 for $567,000. Previous transactions include 1996 for $284,000, and 1999 for $315,000.

The community is west of 441 and covers 500 acres on both sides of Glades Road. The land includes the Evert Tennis Academy and Boca Prep International School and is near commercial plazas including Sports Authority and Mission Bay Plaza. There are swimming pools, tennis leagues, social events and more. HOA fees vary. Students attend Loggers’ Run Middle School and West Boca High.
